The Post- Graduate Program in Executive Coaching (PGPEC) is intended to create high caliber
executive coaches who can

  • Coach CEOs and other senior leaders.
  • Make a real difference to the coaching profession by upholding the spirit of the CFI Coaching competency model and CFI’s standards of professional excellence and ethics.
  • Build a sound and sustainable coaching practice.

At the end of this ten month program, participants will gain the confidence to undertake paid coaching engagements, set up their coaching practice and /or integrate coaching into their style of leadership in the roles they play.

PGPEC attracts some of the country’s most distinguished and successful leaders, HR heads, entrepreneurs, practitioners and professionals from different walks of life with a median work experience of 25 years

Given the expertise of running consecutively 20 batches of this flagship program over the past 10 years, PGPEC is reckoned as India’s most rigorous and much sought-after program by all aspiring coaches.

PGPEC is intended to create CEO coaches who will be able to

  • Engage in executive coaching for CEOs and senior executives
  • Facilitate assessment , feedback, and development planning and implementation for leaders
  • Offer training-led solutions to create a coaching culture
  • Incorporate aspects of coaching into their other professional practices or into the leadership style in their executive roles
  • Live a fuller life by growing as a person

The Post Graduate Program in Executive Coaching (PGPEC) consists of five phases.

  • Preparatory efforts
  • Two learning events of four days each
  • Supervised coaching internship
  • Continuous assessment and feedback
  • Certification
PREPARATORY EFFORTS

Participants are required to invest a significant amount of time in preparatory efforts before they arrive for the learning events. This effort includes preparatory reading, exercises to develop skill concepts, and completion of select psychometric tools.

LEARNING EVENTS

There will be two learning events of four days duration each, with the two events spread across two months. These learning events will be experiential in nature and provide participants with self-awareness, skills, perspectives, and practical tools and techniques for their coaching practice. The learning events will cover the following:

  • Managing self
  • Living the values
  • Leveraging psychological insights
  • Engaging with empathy using Gerard Egan’s Skilled Helper Model and gaining mastery over a wide range of coaching skills through supervised practice
  • Moving forward from the initial coaching agenda to concrete goals and on to sustainable actions
  • Developing a systems perspective to coaching
  • Developing reporting and documentation skills
  • CFI’s standards of professional excellence and ethics
  • Providing supervision and peer guidance
SUPERVISED COACHING INTERNSHIP

Each participant is required to undertake two supervised coaching engagements under the supervision of a CFI certified coach. This coaching internship with two coachees will consist of face-to-face meetings and will be of eight months’ duration. The internship is intended to help participants gain an acceptable level of proficiency in handling a coaching engagement.Participants must also have four supervisory reviews over the internship period.

The Supervisor Coach acts as an extended CFI resource and helps participants gain mastery over the CFI coaching competencies, deliver quality in their coaching engagements and forward their own personal development.

CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT AND FEEDBACK

CFI’s course directors provide participants with continuous assessment and feedback.This feedback helps participants deepen their competencies, make course corrections and develop the confidence to undertake coaching engagements.

CERTIFICATION

Participants who attend all the learning events, complete their internship and reviews and submit the required documents are invited to participate in a public Viva Voce.

The assessment panel of CFI’s Graduate School of Coaching evaluates the participant’s level of competence and readiness to practice coaching and on that basis certifies them as a CEO
Coach.

Upon the successful completion of PGPEC, participants will

  • gain the confidence to undertake paid executive coaching engagements and set up their own coaching practice
  • facilitate assessment, feedback, and development planning and implementation for leaders
  • offer training-led solutions to create a coaching culture for organisations.

Resource persons are drawn from members of the CFI Board, its senior professional members and other experts in the field. Resource persons facilitate learning events, guide skill application and supervise coaching internships.

Ganesh Chella

Ganesh Chella is the Program Director for CFI’s PGPEC. He is also the Vice Chairman of CFI.Ganesh has been a practitioner, consultant, coach and thought leader in the field of Organisation Development, Human Resources Management and Executive Coaching. He has been a practising coach for over 14 years with over 2000 hours of CxO coaching to his credit. Ganesh is the author of the book “Creating a Helping Organisation – 5 engaging ways to promote employee performance, growth and well–being” and the co-author of the book “Are you ready for the Corner office?”. Ganesh is an alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur.

Dr. B. J. Prashantham

Dr. B J Prashantham is one of India’s pre-eminent counsellors, and cross-cultural coach and is involved in Executive Coaching education in India and other parts of the world. He has the distinction of having trained and accredited several thousand counsellors. He is the Director,Christian Counselling Centre, Vellore and a Distinguished Honorary Fellow of the Coaching Foundation India. As a practitioner and researcher Dr. Prashantham has authored many seminal publications. He completed his Post Graduate and Doctoral Program in Ohio State University.

M. Hariharan

M.Hariharan is one of CFI’s senior coaches and coach supervisors. With over 25 years of professional experience in business, training and facilitation, Hariharan is a sought after trainer and facilitator. He is accredited to administer and interpret MBTI and FIRO B. He is an alumnus of IIFT New Delhi.

This ten-month Post Graduate Program in Executive Coaching comes at an investment of Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees three lakhs only) plus service tax as applicable.

This fee covers:

  • Two learning events spread over eight days
  • Supervisory support for the coaching internship
  • Continuous assessment and feedback
  • Courseware
  • Access to CFI’s proprietary coaching engagement models, tools, templates and methodologies for coaching practice upon certification

Once admitted to the program, participants are required to remit the entire fee by DD / cheque in favour of ‘Coaching Foundation India Limited’, payable at Chennai.
